Privacy Policy
Political Social is designed to minimize the collection of sensitive information. An account is not required to use the app's core civic and ballot-recording features. Your ballot images and recognized ballot text are processed on your device and are not automatically uploaded to us. Your political preferences are not published unless you explicitly choose to share them.
Campaign subscriptions and purchases are not available in V1. An authenticated campaign representative may request ownership of an existing candidate profile or privately request addition of a missing candidate. After manual verification, an authorized representative may publish clearly labeled campaign-supplied profile information. Claim and requester contact information is not public.

1. Who this policy covers
This Privacy Policy applies to the Political Social iOS application and the Political Social website, both operated by Innovative AI Apps LLC ("we," "us"). It explains what information may be processed when you use the Service and the choices available to you.
2. Information we collect
Political Social is designed to limit the amount of personal information we collect.
We do not sell or rent personal information. We do not sell, rank, or broker access to individual political preferences.
Depending on the features you use, information associated with the Service may include:
- Contact and profile information: a username, an optional display name, and any name, email address, phone number, role, website, social link, or other contact information you provide in a campaign claim, candidate-addition, support, or waitlist submission.
- Identifiers: the identifiers created by Apple, Google, and Supabase to authenticate and operate your account.
- Campaign claim information: the candidate and committee names and identifiers you select, campaign or committee information, your relationship to the campaign, links you submit, and your confirmation that you are authorized to act for the campaign. Because this information associates an applicant with a political candidate or campaign, it may reveal political affiliation or opinion.
- Missing-candidate request information: candidate name, office, state, district when applicable, claimed party or affiliation, campaign website, supporting source, requester identity and contact details, and your explanation. We keep this submission separate from public election records until manual review.
- Campaign-supplied public profile information: after campaign verification, an authorized representative may publish a campaign biography, photo URL, website, donation, volunteer and contact links, social links, and a campaign statement. The app labels this content as campaign supplied.
- Location information: precise location, latitude and longitude, ZIP code, and a reverse-geocoded street address when you request location-based civic information, as described below.
- Usage and diagnostic information: service requests and feature endpoints used, request times, IP address, response or error codes, account or session identifiers, and related security and operational logs generated when the app communicates with Supabase or other providers.
- Other content: profile information, campaign links, authorization statements, support messages, and other information you choose to submit.
V1 does not upload your ballot images, recognized ballot text, saved Vote Cards, or ballot selections to us. We do not use political preferences for targeted advertising.
Political Social does not use third-party advertising networks, cross-app advertising tracking, or data brokers. We do not track you across apps or websites owned by other companies.
3. Information stored on your device
Political Social stores certain information locally on your device so that core features can work without requiring an account.
Depending on the features you use, locally stored information may include:
- App preferences and onboarding status.
- Captured or imported ballot images.
- Text recognized from ballot images.
- Ballot drafts and saved ballot records.
- Vote Cards and audience selections.
- Other information necessary to restore your in-app experience.
In V1, ballot images, recognized ballot text, saved ballot records, Vote Cards, and their audience selections remain on the device and are not uploaded or published by the app.
Deleting the app generally removes information stored only within the app's local storage. Information that you previously published or associated with an online account may need to be deleted separately through the applicable account or content controls.
4. Accounts and authentication
Political Social offers optional accounts for profile and campaign features.
You do not need an account to use core features that the app makes available without sign-in.
Accounts use Sign in with Apple or Google Sign-In for authentication and Supabase for authentication and backend services. Apple, Google, and Supabase process identifiers necessary to authenticate you. Political Social also stores the username you choose and an optional display name.
Your public profile record includes your account identifier, username, optional display name, and profile timestamps, and may be accessible to app clients, including clients that are not signed in. The app presents your username and optional display name to people using the Service. Do not use a display name you do not want to make public.
Creating an account does not automatically upload your ballot images, ballot-recognition text, or private political preferences.
You can delete your account from the app. The app requires fresh confirmation with a linked Apple or Google provider, asks that provider to revoke the applicable authorization, and then deletes the Supabase account and related profile, campaign claims, candidate-addition requests, and app records that we control. Some security logs, provider records, or backup copies may remain temporarily or where retention is required for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, dispute resolution, or other legitimate purposes.
5. Location and district lookup
Political Social does not request background location access.
Device location is requested only when you choose a location-based feature, such as Use Current Location. Location is used to determine your political districts and representatives. You may also be able to provide a ZIP code or other location information manually.
To determine your district or retrieve location-specific civic information, certain information must be sent to outside data providers.
Depending on the lookup being performed:
- A ZIP code you provide may be sent to the U.S. Census Bureau, including TIGERweb or the Census Geocoder, to resolve your congressional district.
- A one-time device location may be reverse-geocoded using Apple's location services. The resulting street address may be sent to the Census Geocoder and, when applicable, the Google Civic Information API to retrieve address-specific civic or election information.
- Open States may receive a resolved latitude and longitude and state code for state-legislator lookups.
- Congress.gov and the Federal Election Commission may receive a resolved state or congressional district rather than your street address.
The app does not request background location and does not intentionally maintain an app-side history of your precise location or street address. Outside providers may retain request and network information under their own operational, security, and privacy practices.
Third-party data providers may receive technical information ordinarily transmitted with an internet request, such as an IP address, and their own privacy practices apply to information processed by them.
ZIP codes are postal routes rather than political boundaries. A ZIP code that crosses a legislative district may produce a less precise result than an address-specific lookup.
6. Your ballot and voting record
Ballot text recognition is designed to run on your device. Captured ballot images and recognized ballot text are not automatically sent to us for recognition.
Recognition results are presented as an editable draft. You are responsible for reviewing and confirming the information before relying on or saving it.
A Vote Card is a self-reported record of choices you tell Political Social you made. It does not certify how a ballot was cast and is not verified by an election authority.
Saving a ballot record does not automatically make it public.
If we later offer an optional cloud synchronization, backup, or AI-assisted processing feature that requires ballot information to leave your device, Political Social will provide an appropriate disclosure before that information is transmitted and will update this policy as necessary.
Ballot-photography laws vary by jurisdiction. You are responsible for knowing and following the rules where you vote. Political Social may provide alternatives such as importing information or entering selections manually.
7. Sharing and social features
V1 does not transmit or publish your saved Vote Cards, ballot selections, ballot images, or recognized ballot text through an online social feed. The public profile information described in the Accounts and authentication section remains available.
If a later release enables social publishing, we will provide notice before information is transmitted, update this policy as appropriate, and apply the following principles:
- Sharing is off by default.
- You choose what information to publish.
- Political Social may allow different audiences, such as Private, Followers, or Everyone.
- A review screen may show what will be published before you confirm.
- Ballot images and raw recognized ballot text are not included in a published Vote Card unless a feature expressly tells you otherwise and you choose to share them.
- Choices marked Private are not intended to be displayed to other users.
- You may be able to unpublish previously shared content.
- Social or compatibility features may use only information that participants have made available for the applicable feature.
We do not sell access to individual political preferences to candidates, campaigns, advertisers, data brokers, or other third parties.
Campaign claiming and profile editing do not provide campaigns with access to private user voting records or political preferences.
8. Government data sources we query
Political Social uses public civic and election information from sources that may include:
- The U.S. Census Bureau
- Congress.gov
- The Office of the Clerk of the U.S. House of Representatives
- The U.S. Senate
- The Google Civic Information API
- Open States
- The Federal Election Commission
- State or local government election sources
Congressional map geometry may be bundled with the app and rendered locally, meaning ordinary map panning and zooming does not necessarily require your map interactions to be sent to a server.
Coverage from public data sources can be incomplete, delayed, inconsistent, or dependent on location. An empty result does not establish that no election exists, that a candidate is not running, or that you are not registered.
Always confirm voting information with your state or local election officials.
9. Third-party services
V1 relies on the following categories of outside services:
- Apple: app distribution, Sign in with Apple, device location and reverse geocoding, and related platform services.
- Google: optional Google account authentication and Google Civic Information for location-dependent civic lookups.
- Supabase: authentication, database, and server-side functions for accounts, public profiles, private campaign claims and missing-candidate requests, campaign-supplied profiles, account deletion, security, and operational support.
- Resend: delivery of private internal notifications to Political Social when a campaign claim or missing-candidate request is submitted.
- Civic-data providers: the government and civic services listed above, including Google Civic Information and Open States, for location-dependent civic and election lookups.
- Netlify: hosting for the Political Social website.
These providers may process identifiers, location or address information, submitted content, IP addresses, usage information, and technical logs as necessary to perform the applicable service. Their own privacy policies govern their independent processing.
We do not permit third-party service providers to use private ballot selections or political preferences for targeted advertising on our behalf.
10. This website
Political Social's website is designed to minimize tracking.
We do not use the website to sell personal information or build advertising profiles of visitors.
The website does not intentionally set cookies or use analytics, advertising trackers, tracking pixels, or third-party fonts or scripts.
Netlify may process standard server information, such as IP addresses, timestamps, requested URLs, device or browser information, and security-related information, as part of ordinary website operation.
Representatives, senators, elections, or races displayed on the website may be based on periodically refreshed public data and may not be synchronized in real time with the app.
Any sample social profiles, ballots, Vote Cards, political profiles, or similar demonstrations identified as examples are illustrative and should not be interpreted as real voting records.
11. Campaign claims, profiles, and communications
Candidate Pro subscriptions and checkout are not available. The app allows an authenticated user to request ownership of a canonical candidate profile. We manually verify campaign authority; a requester cannot approve their own claim.
If you submit a campaign claim, we collect the selected candidate and committee, campaign or committee name, your full name, role, campaign email address, phone number, campaign website, any donation, volunteer, or social links you provide, and your confirmation that you are authorized to act for the campaign. The request is linked to your account and stored by Supabase.
If the candidate is missing, we also collect the candidate identity, office, state, district when applicable, claimed party or affiliation, optional campaign and supporting-source URLs, and an explanation. We do not automatically publish this user-submitted information. We first verify candidate existence against an authoritative election source, separately from verifying the requester’s campaign authority. An FEC record is not required.
We use this information to review and verify requests, prevent misuse, contact the campaign, and operate campaign profile access. A verified representative can publish only the separate campaign-supplied profile fields described above; Political Social election facts remain under our control. Submitting or verifying a claim does not start a subscription or require payment.
If you provide an email address to receive launch announcements, product information, or other updates, we use it for the purposes described when you submit it.
We do not sell your contact information.
Marketing or update emails we send will include an appropriate way to unsubscribe. Transactional, account, security, or support communications may still be sent when necessary to provide the Service.
You may also contact us at support@innovativeaiapps.co.
12. Children
Political Social is primarily designed for people of voting age and is not directed to children under 13.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child in circumstances prohibited by applicable law, we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
13. Your choices and rights
You can decline location access and use a manual ZIP-code lookup where available. You can delete locally saved ballots in the app or delete the app to remove app-local information.
You can change your display name or username in the app and can delete your account through the in-app account controls. You can opt out of non-transactional marketing communications using the instructions in the message or by contacting us.
Depending on where you live, applicable privacy law may give you rights relating to personal information we maintain about you, including rights to request access, correction, or deletion of certain information.
You may also have the right to object to or restrict certain processing or to receive information in a portable format where applicable.
We will not discriminate against you for exercising privacy rights provided by applicable law.
To make a privacy request, contact support@innovativeaiapps.co.
We may need to verify that a request relates to you before acting on it.
14. Data retention and deletion
Information stored only on your device remains there until you delete it through the app, delete the app, or your device removes the applicable data.
Account and profile information is retained while the account exists. Campaign claims and candidate-addition requests are retained while we review the request, manage campaign access, communicate with the campaign, or otherwise reasonably need the record for the purposes described here. Campaign-supplied public content is hidden when the underlying candidacy is unpublished and may also be hidden when the last verified representative is revoked.
Deleting your account deletes the account-linked app records we control, including the public profile, campaign claims, and candidate-addition requests. Service-provider logs and backups may persist for a limited period under provider retention practices, and we may retain information where reasonably necessary for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, recordkeeping, or dispute resolution.
Support communications and other business records may be retained for a reasonable period when necessary for customer support, security, legal compliance, or recordkeeping.
15. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as Political Social develops.
When we make changes, we will update the effective date above. If a change materially affects how we handle personal information, we will provide additional notice where appropriate, such as through the app or website.
We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
